MEMBERSHIP CODE OF CONDUCT
1. Members shall follow the Principles of Tang Soo Do
Tang Soo Do is a classical martial Art, not a sport. Tang Soo Do is a physical and intellectual activity designed to foster physical, mental and spiritual health.
Tang Soo Do aims to develop and express the individuals true self, not the false self of aggrandisement.
Every Practitioner of Tang Soo Do must do their utmost to retain the purity of their Art and not debase it in any way.
Human Beings are at their best in helping others, at worst in bettering others.
Every Member shall: -
i) seek truth
ii) work at developing a high moral character
iii) strive for humility
iv) love their Country
v) uphold justice
vi) contribute by example, to the acceptance of Tang Soo Do
vii) develop endurance
viii) value confidence and peace of mind

Members shall ensure that their Membership is current and class subscriptions are up to date at all times. Membership covers you for Third Party Liability Insurance and a Small Accident Insurance. If your Membership lapses you will not be allowed to participate in any of the activities related to tang Soo Do. There is a penalty for late renewals and there may be a reactivation charge.

3 CLASS ATTENDANCE
ALL Members are to attend regular classes in order to ensure high levels of skill and fitness. During absence the Instructor must be informed. Members absent from class for a period of 3 months or more will need to be re-assessed after a further period of 3 months regular training during a formal grading session. Dan members absent from classes for a period of 4 weeks will be required to be assessed by the Chief Instructor, for longer periods of absence they may be required to re-take their present grade at the next formal Dan testing.
4 SET THE EXAMPLE
Members shall conduct themselves at all times as an example of what a proper Martial Artist should be. The very fact that you study Tang Soo Do makes you an example of the art. It is a responsibility Members shall bear seriously and proudly.
